Christmas 2009

This year was a fun Christmas for us. The kids are actually old enough to understand the excitement about Santa coming while they are sleeping. It was a fun Christmas morning to see their faces.

Maycee got this stroller and she puts her doggies in it and pushes them around. Notice the fancy shoes she is wearing.

When Maycee saw this rocking horse on Christmas morning she went right over and sat on it and didn't move for 30 minutes. The boys had their presents all opened by the time Maycee decided to even acknowledge her other presents. When you push the horse's ear...it makes horse sounds and moves it's head and tail. It is so cute.

Isaac got this robotic dinosaur, D-rex, that he has been asking for forever. He was so excited and this dinosaur rocks. It has a remote control and walks around and growls at people and it even burps and farts and laughs. It is great entertainment...even for adults.

Brandon also got a robotic dinosaur. He got Screecher, which is D-rex's brother. Screecher is just as fun as d-rex. He is a little smaller but if you try to attack it, Screecher will squirt water at you.

The boys also got electic scooters and roller blades. I hope they don't injure themselves on either of the two.

Silly Isaac

I am sitting here laughing to myself and so I have to post and share this funny story. Remember a while ago when Isaac said, "air is the enemy to freshness"? Well, that is a line from the food saver bags commercial. Isaac has a great memory and hears a commercial once and remembers it word for word.

So today....Isaac is opening a bottle of nail polish that I left on the table and I say, "Isaac, stop! Don't open that, it could spill on my carpet and ruin it." Isaac looks at me and says, "but Mom, clorox bleach can boost out hidden stains!" I started lauging and he said "well, it can!" He walked away and I just laughed to myself. I wondered what else he has learned from commercials.
What a kid. He is incredible and always makes me laugh.

Cute kids!

This morning before Church I made the kids pose for a quick picture by the Christmas tree. I can't believe how big they are getting and how much I love all three of these cute kids.

Bowling and Santa

Saturday was our Christmas Party with my moms family. We get together and have pizza and then go bowling. While we are bowling we always have a special visit from Santa. It is a really fun night for everyone...thanks Grandma!

I love this picture. It shows my boys being good brothers and helping their little sister learn to bowl. Everybody had a good time bowling and cheering each other on. Kevin and I can even still bowl pretty good :)

Polar Express at Grandmas

On Sunday we had a fun family night at Gram and Papas. Grandpa read the kids a Christmas book "The Polar Express". Grandma had boxes for each grankid to decorate and then she had a train track on the ground and the kids got to bring their decorated train car box onto the track and listen to the conductor (papa Reese) read the story. Milk and cookies were served while they listened and a bell was given to each child at the end. WARNING: picture overload. ENJOY!

Maycee's new favorite place

The other day I put Maycee down for a nap. I went back in to check on her a little bit later and this is what I found.

Brandon's Karate Test

Tonight was the big night. Brandon had his Karate test to see if he could advance from white belt to yellow belt. It was really fun to go watch and see how much progress he has made. I took a lot of great picture to share.

Can you beleive how high he can jump. The teacher has given Brandon a nick name of "Air Brandon" because he can jump so high.

Christmas Trains

This past Sunday we had our Reese-get-together and did our annual Christmas Trains. This is one of our favorite family traditions. We get to be creative and eat lots and lots of treats.

This is Isaac's train. If you have ever seen the movie "Elf"...Isaac's train is driving through the candy cane forest.

This is Brandon's masterpiece.

Maycee and I started to do a train but everytime we put candy on the board...Maycee would pull it right off and eat it. Needless to say, we don't have any pictures of Maycee's train but I am pretty sure that Maycee had a tummy ache. :(

Christmas is ruined!

I have to write about this so I don't get too mad.
Since we got our Christmas tree up I thought it might be nice to get a few presents underneath. While the kids were at school today I wrapped one present for each child and put it under the tree. Isaac came home from school and was really excited when he saw the presents. He kept trying to guess what was in his present. I put Maycee down for a nap and went in my room to fold my mountain of laundry and I thought Isaac was out in the living room watching cartoons. A little while later I walked out and noticed something wrong with the presents....they were half way opened! The curiosity got the best of Isaac and he opened, not just his, but Brandon's and Maycee's too. Don't worry he didn't totally unwrap the present because he was "going to tape them back up"! He opened them just enough to be able to tell what they were. AAAAAHHHHHHH! Christmas is ruined. So, should I still give him the present that he opened or should I get him something different?

Putting up the Christmas Tree

Well, Thanksgiving is over and we started to get in the Christmas spirit. Kevin hung the lights up outside and we put up the Christmas tree. I snapped some picture of the kids putting up the tree because they were so cute and helpful.

Isaac is on a role...more funny moments!

So yesterday Isaac and I are driving home and he says, "Mom, I don't want to you get old like our grandmas". I ask him why not? Thinking that he will say something like he doesn't want me to die because he will miss me. Isaac says, "I don't want your face to get all squishy!" Apparently, Isaac thinks wrinkles look squishy!

Then this morning while we are taking Brandon to school, Isaac is singing along with the radio. He has always been into music and singing. So, this morning he says, "Mom, when I grow up I want to be a music man." I said okay Isaac lets hear you sing me a song. Isaac could have chose any song...but my 5 year old started singing Flow Riders, Low, Low, Low! For those of you familiar with that song, it is NOT an appropriate 5 year old song. I guess I need to be more careful what I listen to when my kids are around (not that Flow Riders rap song is in my daily listening menu). That reminds me of another story.... a couple weeks ago we were driving and the radio was on some song...I don't even know the title but it said something about "getting a girlfriend and meeting at the hotel"...Holiday Inn...maybe. Anyways, Isaac asked me when he got old enough to drive if he could get a girlfriend and meet me at the hotel. I don't know about this kid...he pays attention to the smallest details.

Kids say the cutest things.....

Today in church we were sitting up close to the front...close enought to actually pay attention. Brandon was very much into his coloring but also paying attention. The speaker was saying how the Lord has called our bishop to be in charge of our ward...Brandon stopped what he was doing looked at me and said, "Mom, holy crap, the Lord called our Bishop!" I can just imagine Brandon thinking about that phone call :)

Later that day Isaac was sneaking in the pantry to eat his 3rd chocolate granola bar of the day, he had opened the wrapper and was about to stick the granola bar in his mouth when I said, "Isaac, don't eat that, put it back in the pantry". Isaac immedietly said "Oh mom, I already opened it and air is the enemy to freshness!" What???? I have no idea how a 5 year old knew that "air is the enemy to freshnes". I fell to the ground laughing and ask him how he knew that. He says that he doesn't know where he learned it but it must have been from some ziplock bag commercial or something.

Anyways, it just reminds me how sweet and simple children are and how much I love my two cute boys!

Halloween Costumes 2009

So I am only a little bit behind posting my Halloween pictures.
The kids loved wearing their costumes this year. Brandon was Indiana Jones, Isaac was Storm Shadow (the white ninja from GI Joe) and Maycee was a U of U Cheerleader. We went to the church parking lot for a trunk or treat and then I took the boys to their first Haunted House. A neighbor does a little haunted house that is not to scary but a good "beginner" haunted house. The boys did pretty good. I ended up carrying Isaac and Brandon had the death grip on my hand. At the end the kids got a full size candy bar....definatley worth it!

Reese Halloween party

Here is a picture of all the Reese Grandkids at our annual Halloween Party. What a cute bunch!

Syracuse Pumpkin Walk

Saturday night I took the kids to the Syracuse Pumpkin Walkwith my neighbor. It was way more cool than I thought it would be. I seriously took pictures of at least 30 different pumpkins. I didn't want to post all 30 so I choose one of each of our favorites. We went at closing on the last night and so by the time we were leaving the workers were giving away all the leftover food and treats. We came home with popcorn, cotton-candy and Hot Chocolate (or Hot coffee as Isaac called it).

Yes, that is Edward!
