Let summer begin

Brandon just finished his last day of Kindergarten last Friday. He came home and told me that he was a first grader! Wow I am not ready for that. Anyways, so our summer has offically begun. We went swimming on Saturday at my Aunt's house. The kids had so much fun.
Syracuse Parade here we come....

Saturday was Syracuse Heritage Days (or something like that) and there was a parade. We went with some neighbors to the parade and the kids had a blast. Notice the bags to catch candy in...we were prepared! Both kids came home with tonz of candy and other things that they threw at the parade. Overall all it was a pretty good parade for Syracuse. We will definatley do it again next year!

Seinfield Show

So last night Kevin and I got some tickets from my aunt for the Seinfield Show at Abravanel Hall. We had a blast. Both Jerry Seinfield and the other guy who opened for him were hillarious. Kevin and I both needed a good laugh and boy did we get one. I took some pictures on my cell phone but I have not figured out how to send them to my computer to blog. It was crazy to see him in real life...he looks and sounds exactly the same as on TV (probably because he is the same)! Thanks Aunt Kelli.

Babysitting the animals

This past week my parents and 2 brothers went to Hawaii and I got stuck home tending my brother's animals. My boys were thrilled to tend the animals but as for me...not so much! I am not a huge animal person. We will probably never have pets and so my kids will have to play with family members or the neighbors pets. My brothers animals include 5 frogs and 3 sugar gliders(flying squirrles). The frogs eat crickets so me and the boys went to petsmart and I made Brandon carry the bag of crickets and dump it into the frogs tank. I was OK as long as I did not have to touch the crickets. As for the sugar gliders, they eat everyday stuff like baby food, applesauce, hot dogs, fruit and other weird things. I told my brother that I would feed the animals so they would not die but I would not clean up any poop or dead animals. Oh ya, did I mention that the sugar glider STINK! Well my family came home yesterday and I am proud to report that all 8 animals are still alive. Yah to me!

Brandon and his new bike!

A week ago I was pulling out of the garage and heard a CRUNCH! I stopped and jumped out of my car to see that Isaac had placed his bike perfectly under my car so when I backed up I ran over the tire and broke the training wheels. We tried to teach Isaac how to ride a bike without training wheels (because his were crushed) but Isaac was not ready yet. So, for a couple of days he just rode his scooter and then one day Brandon said, "Hey, why don't we give my bike to Isaac...we can put the training wheels (the bigger ones that came with this bike that Brandon didn't use)on and it will be perfect. I said "that's a great idea but what will you ride?" Brandon said that he will just have to get a new one and so he was going to start saving his money. Well, we were at my moms and Brandon noticed uncle Mike's BMX bike and he thought it looked like his size. Brandon called and asked if he could have the bike. Uncle Mike said that he did not ride it anymore and that Brandon could have it. Brandon was so excited he was bouncing off the walls (even more than normal)! It was night time and so Brandon did not ride the bike before bed. He woke up at 1:45 AM and was ready to ride the bike. He was so excited he did not go back to sleep. Needless to say that sleeping only 4 hours a night is not enought for 5 year old and we had Mr. Grumpy all the next day but YES, he did get to ride his new bike. Uncle Mike...thanks, you are the best.

Worst mom ever!!!

Well, I have officially won the "worst mom ever" award. So here is the story...Wednesday was Brandon's field day. He has been looking forward to this for a week. He was told to wear clothes that he could get wet and bring a water bottle and so he has been contemplating what to wear that was cool and could get wet. So Wednesday comes and we get in the car and go to school at our normal afternoon kindergaren time...12:45. Apparently, I missed the memo that both morning and afternoon kindergartners were supposed to come together at 9:00 AM. So when arrived at school at 12:45 school was over and he had missed field day. Tears started to fill Brandon's eyes, he was so sad. I felt like such a bad mom...how did I miss this! Whether Brandon didn't get the note that told us about the time change or he did get it and I accidentially threw it out without reading I don't know but either way I still feel like a bad mom. It was Brandon's first field day ever and we missed it. I took Brandon to the dollar store and let him pick out a toy because I thought that might make up for my "worst mom ever" moment. Brandon seemed better after we left the dollar store.
