Isaac's basketball and my wost mommy moment

Isaac is playing Jr. Jazz and has games every Friday night. Last Friday was a sad day at our house because I am an idiot. So I had it in my mind that Isaac's bball game was at 7. Well we show up at 6:50 ready to play and find out that Isaacs game was at 6 and has seconds left. When I turned to explain to Isaac what had happened, he just started to cry. He stood on the sidelines and sobbed. I felt HORRIBLE. I tried to offer him some ice cream or anything on the way home to cheer him up and he said, "No, I just want to go home". We came home and Isaac was still upset. He didn't talk to me for a while. I had a hard time sleeping that night. I kept thinking how could I ruin my sons night like that. The next day we went and played basketball as a family in the church gym and Isaac had a fun time and he forgave me for my big screw up.

This Fridays game we didn't miss, I think we were even there early. Here are a couple pictures.

January....where have I been

We started 2012 out with a bang. We had a fun night at home with the kids. We played games, games and more games. Including a new family favorite of mexican dominos. Kevin even played with us the whole time. He usually doesn't play games because he is a poor looser!

We got hooked doing some puzzles. Here are a few that we have been working on.

Weekly homemade pizza party. We have kindof started to make this a weekly tradition and these are some of our favorite flavors...bbq chicken, margarita and pepperoni.

Brandon went skiing for the first time. His school class was going for a fieldtrip and he was very excited to go. The ski school spent the morning teaching the kids and then let them ski and play all afternoon. I didn't know what to expect when Brandon got home, would he like it or hate it. Well, when I went to pick him up after a long day skiing he said, "I wanna go again!" Back in the day I used to ski quite a bit and so I was excited to think that we could go skiing together. We have already decdied that we are going to go again in a couple weeks and bring Isaac so he can learn also.

Isaac started playing Jr. Jazz basketball. He really likes basketball but has always been a little timid. This year he has loved watching basketball on tv (especially the Jazz) and he has been practicing his dribbling. He has turned in to a good little player. He understands the game pretty good and is a good hustler. The team has 1st and 2nd graders on it and since he is only in 1st grade, and a small 1st grader at that, he is one of the smallest on the team. But don't let that fool you....he scored 8 points tonight!

January has flown by. Some other highlights are that Brandon has started playing indoor soccer (pictures to come). I had a pedicure with my mom. The kids have been doing well in school and I jjust got 2nd terms report cards and I am one happy mamma. Kevin and I have gone on a couple of fun dates (way overdue). Jakey is finally letting me put shoes on him and he actually leaves them on. Usually he pulls them right off. And last but not least Maycee has been into little mermaid lately. She loves to watch the movie and pretend like she is Ariel. I keep finding her taking off her shirt and putting on my bras because she thinks that she looks like Ariel in them.

Dec. 29th-Jamie had first sushi (pretty big deal)

Yummy...shelly roll is good! Despite my funny face I did like the shelly roll. I also tried a vegas roll. It's about time that I tried some new food. I am the kindof girl who orders the same thing everytime I go out to eat. I just turned 33 and so I am opening my eyes to new stuff. Hopefully 2012 will be full of new exciting adventures for me and my family.
